Solution for No Auto Rotation (Linx 7-8 and Lamina Tablets) after updating to Windows 10

This article is directed to most Linx and Lamina Tablet owners, The solution though not completly fool proof I came across after having difficults with both my Linx 8 and 10 Tablets. The problem occured after updating from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10, I had "No Rotation" and "No Rotation Lock" in action centre. The drivers for the different Linx and Lamina tablets and the solution is as follows. (This one is for linx 7, but the instructions are the same for all linx tablets (a.k.a. Lamina T-701 and Lamina T-801) touch screens.

After doing a clean install or upgrade to windows 10 some devices seem to lose the ability to auto rotate, This is a problem with the G-Sensor drivers by kionix they aren't updated at the time hence no sensor to rotate. How to fix the screen orientation (auto rotate) problem is to re-install the drivers after you do your update. I know, this more a work around then a solution, but my efforts on the Microsoft Community site yielded no results, we can but wait for a cumulative update to hopefully solve this problem once and for all. After you update,
  • Download The Drivers
  • Open Zip File
  • Copy all files to a USB Stick and connect to your tablet via USB
  • Execute G-Sensor/20140626/kxaccel-1.0.13.20-win8-x86.exe
  • Apply kionix_sensor_orientation.reg registry file (double click file)
  • Reboot your tablet and voila.
Drivers can be found here, stored on Google Drive so forgive the slow download,
These links also include Bluetooth and WiFi Drivers too,
If you really want more control of your Windows 10 OS and what "They" know about you, try this excellent program from O&O Software called ShutUP 10. Best of all guys, it's totally free. All settings a reversible, It allows you to turn switches on and off for alot of the presets in Windows 10, in their own words;
  • Adapt your security settings
  • Protect your privacy
  • Control location services
  • Control Windows Updates
  • Do not pass on your user data and diagnostics
The original solution for this problem was published at an excellent up and coming forum at cd-rw.org and I would like to express my thanks to them.
Thank you all for taking the time to view this article. Hopefully it was helpful to you in some way, and I am glad to share with you.
Regards Marc.
